A DAY SPENT IN PRAYER

The Catholic teachers of Auxilium Convent School, Barasat along with the Principal Sr.Clara Saminathan and the Vice Principal Sr. Mary John went to Bandel Basilica on the 15^th of July to spend the day in prayer. As soon as we reached, we made our way to the Retreat House and everyone was made to feel comfortable in their respective rooms. We then proceeded to have our breakfast. Thereafter, we started our day of recollection in the chapel under the guidance of Fr.Tony SDB who led all of us into the prayer moments. His inspiring words and interactive conversations strengthened our faith in Jesus. It was an enriching session with him and helped us to take a firm promise of making the presence of Jesus active in our lives.

There was a counselling session with Sr. Lizzy who guided us in every way possible by bringing us closer to God. It was followed by a Rosary service and lunch. This was followed by a movie ‘God is not dead’. We also had the opportunity to make a good confession at this hour. We concluded our day in prayer with a Eucharistic celebration. Ms. Silvia Gomes thanked Fr. Tony on behalf of everyone for a highly inspiring and enriching day. Ms. Rita Biswas thanked Sr.Clara and Sr.Mary for giving us this wonderful chance and making all the arrangements for the day. We, then departed for our journey back home at 6pm.

TALENT HUNT PROGRAMME -PHASE 6, BATCH 1 for DON BOSCO TECH AUXULIUM BARASAT

 

13 July 2017, was a special day for DON BOSCO TECH AUXULIUM BARASAT as we had Talent Hunt PROGRAMME. Chief guests were Sir Augustin and Ma’am Nazma.

The programme started at 2 O’ clock with a motivational speech and opening prayer by the Center-In- charge Sr. Sherley. This stage programme is an open forum to showcase the talents of the students.

It was conducted by one of our students, Susmita Mallik. She started the Program by welcoming the chief guest and those who were present over there. The programme consisted of competitions in solo dances and songs; group dance completion and a duet dance.

Sir Augustin and Nazma Mam appreciated the performance of the students. They said that it’s a platform for the students who are getting skill training along with extra- curricular activities. Sr. Sherley thanked both the guests and appreciated the students’ performance.

Rally and Street Play on Conservation of Environment

On 14^th July 2017, the Eco Club students of Holy Child Auxilium School Vasant Vihar led a Rally along with the NCC cadets on the burning issue of Conservation of Environment. They coined and raised apt slogans on the issue complemented with colourful and thought provoking placards. Their talents and enthusiasm were at display with a street play at Vasant Vihar market place. Mr. Manoj Mehlawat,Municipal Councillor of Vasant Kunj,was present to encourage the children for their effort in this direction. A large number of onlookers, shoppers and shopkeepers appreciated the level of awareness and effort put in by the students. The rally was flagged off by Principal, Sr. Celine Alexander who congratulated the students on the initiative taken by them.The Vice Principal Sr Karuna accompanied the rally along with five teachers.

SEMINAR ON LEADERSHIP

 

On 6th July 2017, the HC Auxilium organised a leadership seminar for the leaders of the school. The seminar was conducted by Father Nobert Xalxo SDB, a youth animator and a motivational speaker from Don Bosco School, Alakananda.

The seminar commenced with a prayer song and the division of students into various groups. Through interactive activities the students understood the meaning of a true leader. They were made to perform in their respective groups instilling in them the qualities of teamwork, team spirit and dedication. The seminar included a video clips which inspired the students to look at the brighter side of the situation. It also taught the students how different outlook and approach on life can make things better. It was culminated by a vote of thanks given by the Vice Head Girl of the school.

 

Provincial Visitation

On 12^th July 2017 Mother Provincial Sr. Rose Ezarath was welcomed by the energetic crowd of H C Auxilium School, Vasant Vihar in the school auditorium. She was escorted by the smartly turned out NCC cadets and given the guard of honour by the students of sixth standard. There was a traditional welcome at the entrance, then the lighting of the lamp followed by felicitation with cards and fresh plants in the planters, the cultural programme specially prepared for Mother. The theme of the programme was Family. The students presented songs, dances and a short skit on the importance of love in the family which is eroding due to the interference of technology. Mother Provincial addressed the ‘Young Children’ with her inspiring and motivational talk. She encouraged the students to have a goal and pursue it. In her address to the teaching faculty, Mother appreciated the efforts and hard work  for bringing good results. Later during the day, she also addressed the past pupils who had come to pay their regards to her.

Day with God

On 7^th July 2017, 24 catholic students of Auxilium convent School Barasat, along with Sr. Shirley Kalapurayil and Sr. Mary John went to Bandel basilica for a retreat. The program started with the holy Eucharist by Rev. Fr. Tony Sdb. After the holy Mass all went to the Balcony to pray the holy rosary. After supper we watched a movie named Our Lady of Fatima. We learned the importance of praying the rosary.The life and courage of Jacinta, Lucy and Francisco touched us and inspired us a lot.

The following day we began our day with the Holy Eucharist.  The day’s programme was animated by Rev. Fr. Tony and Deacon Felix Raja Sdb. The topics dealt were the importance of prayer and the word of God in our life and the need to have a programmed life. We were given opportunities to express our difficulties we face in our life and solutions were suggested. Fr. Tony exhorted us to have will power and be strong in our decisions.

In the afternoon we had the privilege to avail the sacrament of confession and few were lucky to receive counseling. We also had a guided tour of the Basilica.   We concluded our day with the Holy Rosary at the shrine of Our Lady and watching the story of a monk called Nacho, who loved the orphan children and worked hard to provide food for them. On Sunday 9^th July after Holy Mass at the Basilica and breakfast we left Bandel.  We are grateful to Sr. Principal Sr. Clara Swaminathan for giving us this golden opportunity to know God and the bible in a better way.

 

Workshop on writing FMA India History

 

A workshop was held in view of drafting  FMA indiaHisory as we journey towards the centenary celebration of FMA presence in India, from 15-16 July 2017 at Auxilium Dum Dum. Sr. Philomena D,souza INB coordinator of FMA India history conducted the workshop for northern provinces, INS,INC and ING.  The workshop focussed on drawing up some guidelines for writing the history. The participants were Sr. Eugenia Laloo from Shillong, Sr. Penny Rose and Sr. Kaini Martha from Guwahati, Sr. Lily Perumpettikunnel and Sr. Stella Potteparambil from Kolkata.   The vice Provincial, Sr. Adampakallel Theresa welcomed the members.  The interaction with Sr. Rose Ezarath, provincial of Kolkata was an encouragement for the  members to take up this great and tedious work. Sr. Lily Perumpettikunnel was chosen by the members to coordinate the work of writing history of the northern provinces. The workshop drew its curtain with thanksgiving Hymn at 2.p.m

 

 

Installation of the New Animator at Holy Child Auxilium, R. K. Puram

On 22^nd June 2017 the Sisters of R.K. Puram community together with the girls, had the joy of welcoming their new Animator, Sr. Teresa Pulickathadathil. As she stepped into the house, she was showered with flowers. The community sang a welcome song and presented a bouquet of flowers. Then proceeded to the chapel to thank God for having brought Sr. Teresa safely, and to ask His choicest blessing upon her to carry out her service of authority according to His holy will and according to the heart of Don Bosco and Mother Mazzarello.

Our new animator Sr. Teresa Pulickathadathil was installed on 24^th June 2017 during a short prayer service. Sr. Maria Pettayil the animator of Vasant Vihar community was the delegate of Mother Provincial for the installation. Our Sisters from the neighbouring communities were present for the occasion. Sr. Asha Kerketta conducted the prayer moments. During the prayer moment, Sr. Maria invited  Sr. Lily Perumpettikunnel the outgoing animator to hand over a lighted lamp the symbol of Jesus the light of the world who would light her path for the spreading of God’s  Kingdom. We implored the Lord of light to enlighten and guide Sr. Teresa in all her undertakings.

On 6^th July 2017, during the morning assembly the teachers and students welcomed the new Superior Sr. Teresa with a short welcome speech by the school captain Ms. Garima, followed  by   floral presentation by every class. A beautiful welcome song was sung by the captains of the School and a welcome dance by students of Class IV. Sr. Teresa thanked the children for their warm welcome and the short programme put up in her honour.

 

Seminar on Child Protection Policy at St. Anthony’s, Jaigaon

 

On 8^th July 2017, the school management of St. Anthony’s, Jaigaon organized a seminar on Child  Protection Policy for the teachers of the school.  The resource person was Sr.Stella P, the animator of Auxilium  Barasat and the Education coordinator of the province . After a few introductory words from Sr. Margaret Ferenandes, the principal, she was welcomed by the high school and higher secondary co-ordinators  with the traditional khada and a bouquet of flowers.

The session aimed at creating awareness among the staff members regarding the policies of the Act. The session was introduced with the words from the Gospel, “I have come that they may have life and have it abundantly”  with a power point presentation.

Sr.Stella gave a detail information regarding POCSO,UNCRC,RTE and Juvenile Justices Act which aims at protecting the children from physical ,mental , sexual and moral abuses upto the age of 18. She invited everone to undertake sincere initiatives  in creating congenial and holistic atmosphere in the school.

Outing to Ambala by Auxilium Snehalaya

On June 23, 2017 Auxilium Snehalaya, New Delhi went for three days of outing to Ambala, Chandigarh, along with Don Bosco Ashalayam.  We were almost 190 in number including Fathers, Sisters, staff and children.  On 24^th we were invited to visit Don Bosco Kauli where we spent the evening hours.  After an enjoyable day together, we set out for New Delhi and at midnight we reached back home.  We thank God and cherish the beautiful time we spent in Chandigarh.
