The Auxilianns of Barasat gathered in the auditorium at 9:45 a.m on 26th April to celebrate the feast day of Mother General along with the Investiture Ceremony. The Chief guests for the auspicious event were Father Hermil D’ Souza, Parish Priest of St.Patrick’s Church in Dum Dum, along with our Sr. Superior. The Chief Guests and the sisters were felicitated with cards and bouquets. We also celebrated the World Gratitude, the theme for this year being “With our whole hearts we proclaim joy”.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp to grace the occasion with the Almighty’s blessing and adorning the portrait of Mother general with garlands. A soulful prayer song followed, along with same prayers, asking the Benevolent Lord to keep the Salesian Family under his watchful care and to enable the newly selected captains to carry out the responsibilities bestowed on them dutifully. We also prayed for the sound health of Mother General so that she could continue her mission of spreading solicitude all over the world. A graceful prayer dance was performed, followed by a presentation on the inspiring life of the Mother General. The prayer service came to an end, giving way to the Investiture Ceremony.

On 26th April the students of Auxilium Convent school, Barasat gathered in the auditorium to celebrate three events – the feast of Mother General, World Gratitude Day as well as the Investiture Ceremony. The Investiture ceremony commenced at 10.30 a.m. The event began with a grand parade by the newly selected captains. Then the Sisters and teachers were called upon to bestow the badges to the School Captain and vice Captains, the Prefects, the club Presidents, the house Captains, the house Vice Captains, the Class Captains and the Class vice Captains. The Captains then took their oaths, swearing to live up to the responsibilities entrusted to them and act as fortifiers of our school motto- “Virtue and Knowledge”. Then Fr.Hermil D Souza, our Chief Guest for the event, had a welcome surprise in store for us, in the guise of a melodious bhajan to infuse enthusiasm in the Captains and remind them of their duties. This was followed by a motivational presentation on what it takes to be a leader. Father gave us a wonderful thought in his speech- all of our work should be done for the golry of God alone and the leaders should strive to bring out the best from the last, the least and the lost, to change them into fore runners of the society. Sr.Stella asked us to follow the footsteps of our beloved Mother General. The programme concluded with the entire assembly joining in the school anthem as one at 11.30 a.m.
