The International women’s day celebration was held on 21st March 2017 at St. John Mary Parish New Chumta. About 200 women participated the celebration. The celebration started with a procession from the Parish ground to Khaprail village and then proceeded to Auxilium Convent School auditorium New Chumta. The programme of the day started at 10.30 a.m. by invoking God’s blessings.
The resource person of the day was Fr. William Tirkey the parish priest of Titlidangi. In his talk he highlighted the qualities of motherhood and the wonderful services the mothers render to the family, the society and the world. Fr. Sanjay Kindo the parish priest of New Chumta also delivered his speech on the ‘inner strength of a woman’. The women presented action songs and dance.
At the end Sr. Angela Kerketta, in charge of the parish’ women, showed a video on child abuse, making them aware of the recent problems that are developing in the world and she exhorted them to be a mother who takes care, loves and protects the child and makes the family a happy family. The event was concluded at 1.00 p.m. with the distribution of the snacks for all the women in the parish ground. Everyone was contented and thanked the priests and the sisters for organizing a wonderful day.
