Our journey to Emmaus …

2nd Novitiate

On 13th April 2015, six sisters, five from Kolkata Province and one from Mumbai Province commenced their 2nd phase of the Second Novitiate, at Sacred Heart Novitiate, Ranchi. This voyage commenced with a well prepared inaugural prayer service animated Sr. Rose Ezarath and Sr. Mukta. The Mazzarello community too joined the second Novitiate sisters for the prayer moment. Each one of us was cordially welcomed by Sr. Rose Ezarath on behalf of Sr. Provincial.

The picturesque image of the disciples of Emmaus was the guiding force, and 1 Corinthians Ch.13 which speaks on love was the scriptural passage that began illumining our journey of one month.

Sr. Philomina Prabalanathan spoke on consecrated life and exhorted us to acquire eight qualities to be an authentic Daughters of Mary Help of Christians. We thank the sisters for helping us to enter into the sacred time of Second Novitiate.

  1. Well begun is half done! Praise God for the good inaugural service of the Second phase of the Second Novitiate of the INC Province at Ranchi Novitiate. I am deeply grateful that our dear Sr. Preethi Mathias is part of this group and will make the Emmaus journey of enountering Christ more and more through the days of the Second novitiate and through the moments of prayer, reflection, sharing, study and work. May our six young sisters be open to the working of the Spirit so that they may be moulded and fashioned into beautiful persons for the day of their total offering to God. My prayers and loving wishes accompany them.
